Thank You!
A BIG thank you to all our San Diego student members who volunteered at the 2008 NAEP/CAEP Conference, which was held at the Omni Hotel downtown San Diego in March. The conference committee expressed much appreciation and thanks to all the student volunteers who helped to make the event a success.

Congratulations!
Congratulations to Kyle Harper as this year's recipient for the National Association of Environmental Professionals (NAEP) Zirzow Memorial Student Award. Kyle was nominated by Dr. Jane Teranes, professor in the Environmental Systems Program at UCSD, as the 2008 recipient of this award. Dr. Teranes nominated Kyle for "his exceptional academic and professional achievements".

Kyle was recognized at the Keynote Luncheon at the 2008 NAEP/AEP Annual and Dr. Teranes was also invited to attend. Audrey Binder is the committee chairman for this award and she presented Kyle with the Zirzow Memorial Student Award.

The Zirzow Memorial Student Award was established in honor of Charles F. Zirzow, one of the founding members of NAEP, who strongly believed that environmental education was a continuing and lifetime process. This award is granted by NAEP on an annual basis to an outstanding student studying in the field of environmental sciences. The Zirzow Memorial Student Award consists of a paid registration fee to the conference, a one-year student membership in the NAEP, a subscription the journal "Environmental Practice", and a cash award.
